Keeping the Secret

Learning To Lie And Keep Secrets

Again, I don't like the idea of hiding things and lying to our families but it is something that comes with the cost of ana success. Here are some ways of preventing suspicion:

1. Don't over-react if someone comments on your eating behaviour, or accuses you of having a problem. Be non-commital, and shrug and pretend that it doesn't bother you and say that it is a stupid idea and of course you eat. They are more likely to believe you if they think that their accusation/observation hasn't caused much reaction from you.

2. Do start hiding your habits, even if they have no idea yet and you are just starting out - it is better to start hiding it early, that way you are less likely to be found out.

3. Don't talk about food all the time, you don't want people to think that you are obsessed. Keep quite about diets and things, except for when possibly telling them you are on a fast - make sure they believe it is for moral reasons.

4. Do cheat. Go to the fridge, and take the foods which you usually eat, and dispose of them appropriately. Make up dirty plates, so that it looks believable that you had a meal. The bigger the pretend meal the better, for them you can avoid other meals by claiming to be full already.

5. Do lie. If you are alone before you get home each day, then take out some money from your wallet and hide it somewhere secret. Think about exactly what food you would normally have, take the right amount of time to get home regarding how long the food takes to be served, and then claim you went to a fast-food restaurant etc before you go thome so you aren't hungry.

6. Do say why you aren't eating if asked. Think of an excuse before you skip meals, etc, that way you aren't forced to think up something on the spot which may later prove faulty.

7. Do hide foods given to you, and then dispose of them.

8. Don't show off your weight-loss until you have reached your desired weight goal.

9. Do come up with a socially acceptable reason for not eating. For example, you are trying out vegetarianism, you are going to the doctors/dentists later, you are only allowed to eat certain things by doctors orders, anything. People tend to want to help you avoid food if they think it is in your best interests.
